Welcome to our Realm! We know there are hundreds of sites that will give you all the game info you need (and we'll direct you to them!) but this site is different. Why? Because we are different! When non-Mmudders ask what is the appeal of a non-graphical, text based roleplaying game, most of the time it's a sure bet that they have never experienced a BBS. A BBS is a unique community, each with its own flavor, seasoned by the personality of each member of the board. So, again, welcome to our Realm!

One rarity that we are happy to host is a totally handplayed game of MajorMUD. (For scripters, we also have a second game) FIVE of our handplayers have made it to Mudcentral's Top Non-Scripted List. That's right, one fourth of the top MajorMUD handplayers, play here!

Another unique aspect of Silent Running is a regular, scheduled full board run every Sunday at noon for our handplayed game. Board runs have been a part of our game for over two years. This is when we quest new players, go after that item someone has been drooling for, die spectacular deaths, and generally just have a great time. If you are looking for a Realm with live people, you're looking for us!

We run the latest version of MajorMUD and have all mods. Our telnet address is silent-running.com. We do require a verifiable Internet email address, so please don't waste our time with Hotmail or Yahoo addresses. If you are coming from AOL, be sure that you have not disabled Internet email. That should cover the formalities, let's party!

Expect to spend several hours on a board run. Remember, this is a strictly handplayed game; extended afk periods for food are somewhat frowned upon. No worries!
